My Blog bio picture
  • Welcome to my blog!

For those of you who don't know me, photography initially began for me as a hobby, something which I could turn my mind to after a stressful week in the office and something which allowed me to demonstrate my creativity, even if it was for a couple of days before realising it was Sunday again, where it was time to set the alarm to 5:30am and wake up to do the corporate thing one more time.

Whilst I haven’t left the corporate world for good (just yet), it is a transition, a process which at this stage I am happy to follow through with and see where the journey will take me.

My goal is to capture and document real-life moments in a natural way and to develop a style of photography which defines me, my personality and to deliver these moments to clients as memories capturing that all-embracing moment in time with a focus on lifestyle and wedding photography.

I live in Sydney with my husband and two dogs. Life is good and this is my story.

The Inside Out Workshop: Singapore 28-30 January 2011

After finally relieving myself of the humidity in Singapore I have returned to a monstrous heat wave in Sydney!

Yes, the heat was (and still is!) unbearable but thankfully I managed to spend most of that time in the comfort of an air-conditioned room with the benefit of being an attendee at the Inside Out Workshop.

I recently spent 3 very (and I mean very) intensive days attending the workshop held by Jenny Sun, photographer (www.jennysunphotography.com) as a participant whose inspirational work I have been following for some time now. Not only did we get to hear the ins and outs (as the name suggests) of the business, but I had the chance to meet some wonderful people and the hands-on experience was simply invaluable.

I have never attended a workshop as intensive as this one but for all of you out there who are like me and who have been thinking about it (or who missed out on this workshop – sorry hehee!) I would definitely encourage investing in attending one and no doubt, workshops held by Jenny. For me personally, what set this workshop aside from any other which I’ve attended in the past is the relaxed nature of the workshop where you are comfortable in asking questions and making mistakes, the overwhelming experience behind Jenny and her generosity in giving us all more than just a sneek peek into the industry. So thank you Jenny for a wonderful experience and hopefully you will hold more workshops in the future!

The pictures below were taken by us on sets which were styled and designed by Jenny and for more of her work, please check out her awesome, awesome blog.

Here are some of my favourite snaps from the workshop so enjoy and for those of you who are interested in the people responsible for the styling, hair and make-up behind the shoot, here are the details:

Casting babies! Sienna Accardo

A little while ago I had the pleasure of photographing my good friend’s little one, Sienna Accardo. Now this was my first experience at photographing babies and to say that I felt nervous was definitely an understatement but those beautiful big brown eyes of hers eased me into the session and whilst she became a little tired towards the end (only 2 hours of photography later), it was more the case that she was running the show with her mum and I obeying every little laugh, scream and cry.

She managed to fall asleep (probably a sign of her bordem and my inability to keep her entertained!) so we snuck in this photo…

And her gorgeous little shoes…!

Haha and this was Sienna yawning….I managed to get a few photos of her yawning away but this was by far the best family moment!

Christening of Constantine Apostolakis

Okay so I’m quite new at the whole blogging process but what better way to kick off than to post my favourite photos from the Christening I photographed on 24 October 2010…that is the Christening of little Constantine, aka “Con”.

Con’s auntie…

Con’s grandfather…

It was a wonderful atmosphere …

I love love love this next photo!

And this next one…it is very hard to choose a favourite

And this one…

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to photograph Con’s Christening Mariam and I hope  you like the photos!
